Anchal Sharma
Anchal, 21, was born and brought up in Delhi and is currently pursuing her graduation after completing her 10th and 12th from CBSE. Before Emerge, she was afraid to speak in English, travel alone, or use digital tools like Google Maps and email. She lacked confidence and often stayed silent out of fear. Through the fellowship, she developed strong communication skills, learned MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and became confident in public speaking and independent travel. Today, she confidently manages technology, travels alone, and supports her family with pride. Her journey reflects growth from hesitation to independence.

Bhumika
Bhumika, 21, originally from Bihar and now living in Delhi, is pursuing a Bachelor of Arts from Delhi University. She dreams of joining the Delhi Police. Before Emerge, she struggled with self-doubt, dependency, and fear of speaking in front of others. She lacked clarity about her future and relied heavily on others for decisions. The fellowship helped her build confidence, improve digital skills, and develop a growth mindset. Today, she is self-reliant, focused on her career goal, and proud of the progress she has made. Bhumika’s journey shows transformation from fear to determination.
Nargis
Nargis, 22, completed the Emerge Fellowship and experienced a powerful personal transformation. Earlier, she was afraid to speak publicly, travel alone, or share her thoughts. Coming from a background where girls were restricted from stepping outside freely, she lacked confidence. Through Emerge, she learned to express herself boldly, ask questions, and travel independently. She even performed in front of 300–400 people at Lotus Temple, breaking barriers of fear. Today, she stands confident, independent, and proud of changing not only herself but also her family’s mindset.

Parmjeet Kaur
Paramjeet Kaur, 22, originally from Uttar Pradesh and living in Delhi, has completed her 12th from the UP Board and aspires to become a sketch designer. Before Emerge, she was dependent on others, hesitant to speak, and unsure about her abilities. She did not know how to use digital tools or travel independently. The fellowship helped her develop confidence, digital literacy, and a strong mindset. Today, she manages responsibilities independently, uses technology effectively, and moves confidently toward her dream career. Her family now proudly trusts her decisions.
Pooja
Pooja, 22, lives in Sanjay Colony, Okhla, with her family of four and has completed her 12th from CBSE. Before joining the Learning by Locals Emerge Fellowship, she was very shy and a silent student who lacked confidence in speaking publicly. It was her dream to learn English and computer skills, but she often felt nervous and hesitant to express herself. Through the fellowship, she built strong communication skills, gained confidence in public speaking, and developed basic computer knowledge. Today, Pooja can speak in front of others without fear and feels proud of her growth. She now aims to secure a job, earn independently, and fulfill her dreams while supporting her family. Her journey reflects a powerful shift from hesitation to confidence and ambition.
Pooja Kumari
Pooja, 22, originally from Bihar and raised in Delhi, has completed her graduation from IGNOU after finishing her schooling through CBSE. Before Emerge, she was shy, nervous around strangers, and afraid to travel alone or speak in English. She lacked confidence in communication and self-expression. After completing the fellowship, she learned to communicate confidently, travel independently, book tickets online, prepare her resume, and express herself clearly. Today, she is career-focused and determined to earn, grow, and support her family. Her journey reflects confidence built through courage.
Sheeba Khatoon
Sheeba was once a fearful and restricted young girl who was not allowed to step outside alone or speak up for herself. She lacked confidence and had never imagined dreaming beyond her circumstances. Through the Emerge Fellowship, she developed courage, independence, and self-belief. She learned to step outside her comfort zone, raise her voice for herself, and take responsibility for her future. Today, Sheeba stands stronger, more confident, and capable of shaping her own path. Her transformation represents freedom through learning.
Shristi Tiwari
Shristi Tiwari, 21, originally from Bihar and currently living in Delhi, is pursuing B.Com (non-regular) after completing her schooling from CBSE. She aspires to become a teacher as well as an accountant. Through Emerge, she developed confidence, improved her English communication, and gained professional exposure. The program helped her secure a job at Ink Chase Check Services Pvt. Ltd., where she works in background verification and client communication. Today, she is financially independent, career-oriented, and continuously learning. Shristi’s journey reflects how confidence and skill-building open doors to opportunity.
