Neha Arya
Who am I
My name is Neha Arya and I am nineteen years old. I am in my 3rd year of studies for a BA in Tourism Management at the College of Vocational Studies, University of Delhi.
I am from Uttarakhand but currently I live in New Delhi with my family. There are 4 members in my family including me.
I am an adventurous person and have a lot of hobbies like traveling, acting, dancing, cooking and exploring new places. I like meeting new people, doing theater and drama and tasting new cuisines.
Goals and Ambitions:
I want to be a tourist guide and my dream job is to work in a travel agency. I would also like to do a world tour.
I joined Emerge fellowship because I want to improve my English-speaking skills as well as my computer skills.
How I have benefited from Emerge:
I have learned so many things through Emerge including basic English, computers and math, time management and how to communicate with other people.
Jyoti
Who am I:
My name is Jyoti and I am twenty one years old. I have lived in Delhi with my family since my birth. I am the youngest in my family and I have two older brothers.
I graduated from Delhi University with an M.A in economics. I did my schooling from CBSE board.
Goals and Ambitions:
My dream job is to become a teacher in Economics.
I joined Emerge Fellowship to learn skills to use in a professional career. I wanted to learn for my future teacher dream job. I also want to be more social with people. I want to learn how to teach fellows in our program, and how can I use these skills in a professional career. As well, I want to learn English speaking skills and basic computer skills for a better job.
How I have benefited from Emerge:
I learnt how to be confident interacting with people. Before I couldn’t speak a line about any topic, now I can speak about any topic with confidence. I learnt professional skills like basic manners and how to behave in a professional place. I can easily use technology like computers in the workplace.
The Emerge stipend also helps me be independent on my basic needs like for recharge, buying study material.
Preeti
Who am I:
My name is Preeti. I am 20 years old. I was born and brought up in Delhi. There are five members in my family including me.
I am pursuing a bachelor of arts from Delhi University. I am a straight forward person. My hobbies are teaching and exploring.
Goals and Ambitions:
My dream job is to be a teacher. I also want to open my own NGO to give students an open space to share their problems with me. I want to help students who are unable to find what they want to do in their life.
I joined Emerge because I want to build my professional skills, English, computer etc. I know those skills will help me get a good job.
What I have learned from Emerge:
In Emerge I learnt basic Computer, English and professionalism. I have visited different places to explore and I have improved my communication skills and leadership skills.
Saba
Who am I:
My name is Saba. I am from Bihar but currently I live in Delhi. My father’s name is md Akram and he is an employee ( embroidery worker). I have only one brother. I am 19 years old. Presently I am pursuing my graduation from Moti Lal Nehru college (non regular). I am a second year student. I passed my 10th and 12th exams from the CBSE board. In 12th class I had commerce with math. That’s why I am doing a B.Com. I like to teach students. My hobbies are drawing and learning new things.
My name is Saba and I am 19 years old. I am from Bihar but currently I live in Delhi with my father and brother. Presently I am a second year student pursuing my B.Com from Moti Lal Nehru college. I enjoyed studying commerce and math and that is why I am doing a B.Com.
My hobbies are drawing and learning new things. I like to teach students.
Goals and Ambitions:
My long term goal is to become a teacher as well as an accountant.
My short term goal is to become a fluent English speaker and earn money to fulfill my needs and my family needs (as well as remove my bad habits. )

What Emerge has given me:
In Emerge I have developed my confidence level and it helps me to get a job because I develop my confidence level through Emerge.
All teachers are very supportive and they help me a lot. I want when I am free I connect to the Emerge team members, teachers and students.
The Emerge program also supports me financially while I learn skills to improve my future employability.
Fizza
Who am I:
My name is Fizza and I am 18 years old. I am from Pune but currently I am living in New Delhi. l have passed my 10th from S.S.C board and l am pursuing my 11th and 12th together from N.I.C.S.
My hobbies are dancing, Listening to Music, Singing songs, Playing games.
Goals and Ambitions:
My dream job is to do something in a dancing line. l want to become a good Dancer.
The reason I joined Emerge is because of my financial problems and to improve my skills.
What I get from Emerge:
The things l learnt from Emerge are how to build confidence in yourself and how to speak in English in front of many people. l learnt some basic Computer and basic Math which I can use in my daily life. I learnt the importance of Time and punctuality. l learnt how to communicate with foreigners and l learnt how to take initiative to ask anything to anyone.
Manisha
Who am I:
My name is Manisha Pa and I am 19 years old. I am from UP but currently I live in Haryana with my family of five sisters. (My father’s name is Mr. Jaisi Ram Pal and he is an Auto Driver.) Presently I am pursuing my BA from UP. I have passed my 10 or 12 in CBSE board in commerce with math subject but in college I will choose BA.
I like to draw and learn new things and I am interested in game
I am a martial arts student, and I have been to many martial arts competitions. I have won many gold and silver medals and I have won a best fighter trophy. I am also a yoga student. I do not enter any competition related to yoga but I am very good at yoga because of my martial arts training.

My long term goal is to become an IAS officer.
What I have learned from Emerge:
I joined Emerge class because it is very interesting and I am learning so many things. I have learnt English, Math, and Computers. Before Emerge, I had not much knowledge related to math and I had no idea about computers.
Moumita
Who am I:
My name is Moumita. I am 20 years old . I am from Kolkata, but currently I live in Delhi. I am studying in an open school from Jamia Millia Islamia. My hobbies are dancing and stening.
Goals and Ambitions:
And my goals are to be a social worker and I want to become a nurse.
I joined the Emerge class to learn new skills.
What Emerge has given me:
I have developed my confidence and improved my math, English and Computer skills. I am learning so many things. I am also learning to speak without hesitation.
I learnt how to use online transactions and how to travel alone . I learnt Google tools to help survive in our daily life. I have visited different places.

Who am I:
My name is Bharti. I am from Delhi. I have done my B.Ed. I did my schooling from Sister Nivedita Sarvodaya Kanya Vidyalaya. It’s basically a government Hindi medium school.
In my family, apart from my parents, I have two elder sisters and two younger brothers. I belong to a very conservative family and I am the first child in my family to pass 12th and get higher education.
My hobbies are dancing, traveling, watching movies, playing outdoor games and learning new things.
Goals and Ambitions:
I want to become a teacher or professor. I want to be an independent woman.
I joined the Emerge program because I wanted to improve my English and Computer skills
What Emerge has given me:
In addition to English and computers, Emerge gave us a few other classes including Aadya session, Self explore sessions, Experts sessions and how to develop our personality.
Durga
Who am I:
My name is Durga. I’m 20 years old. I live in New Delhi, India with my family. My family consists of seven members: me, my two brothers, my parents and my grandparents. I’m currently in my 3rd year, BA Programme at the School of Open Learning, DU. I’m a passionate learner and I have many goals & hobbies. Some of them are reading and writing novels; learning and exploring different languages, traditions and cultures in the world.
I like to play sports and games, especially basketball. I have interest in listening and singing music, dancing and traveling. I also love fashion designing, styling, watching and acting drama and theater.
I dislike winters without snowfall. I hate conflicts, crises, hatred and negativity in general.
What Emerge has given me:
My dream job is to work as a social worker in the UN or any other national/international organization.
I joined Emerge Fellowship because I want to boost my confidence, develop better mathematical and computer skills.
What I have learned from Emerge:
Emerge has improved my confidence, math and computer skills, and has also helped me in public speaking.
With this fellowship it has also helped me gain a little financial independence and aid for my current as well as future education.

Who am I:
My name is Anju. I am 21 years old. I am from Bihar but currently I live in Delhi.
I am doing my BA 3rd year at DU from Delhi University. I have 8 family members including me. I like to play games, listen to songs, travel to new places, collect new things and learn new things.
Goals and Ambitions:
I joined Emerge classes to improved my English knowledge and to learn how to use basic computers
What Emerge gave me:
Emerge classes have helped me improve my English and learn computer skills like how to make a Resume, Marksheet, use Google slides, Google maps. I have also learnt how to Connect other people, how to communicate with new people, how to speak in front of many people and board mass.
Anupama
Who am I:
I am Anupama Yadav. I’m from UP, Ballia but currently I live in New Delhi Sanjay Colony, Okhla. I am 20 years old. I have two siblings.
My hobbies are traveling and love to eat fast food. I also like to care for injured people.
Goals and Ambitions:
My future goal is to become a nurse. My short time goal is to complete my course properly.
What I have learned from Emerge:
I have learned about Google Tools and have also learned to operate Google Maps. And how to make a marksheet inside a computer and how to make a budget set, we have learned a lot in math like what is decimal, why do fractions convert rupee to paise and money to rupee and Kilometers .How to convert nails from millimeter to meter and we have learned many things in English also. Tense Adjective Noun and Pronoun.
Along with this, we have also learned how to increase our confidence level in Emerge and how we should treat people.
Sapna
Who am I:
My Name is Sapna Rodiyal. I am From Uttarakhand but I reside in New Delhi, India with my family. My family consists of seven members. I am 20 years old. I am in 2nd year and I am currently studying at the School of Open Learning, University of Delhi.I am doing political honors.
Goals and Ambitions:
My dream job is to be a tour guide. I want to learn about the world and different cultures and traditions. I also want to do a good job because there are so many financial problems I want to remove.
I joined Emerge because I used to have less knowledge about Computers and also I didn’t have good Communication skills. I wanted to learn Basic math and Basic Computer skills and English
What Emerge has given me:
From Emerge I have learnt English skills. Because of the English language I can go anywhere and face anybody in any language. I also learnt questioning skills and Time management, how to make yourself previous.
Monika
Who am I:
My name is Monika. I am 19 years old. I am from Uttar Pradesh but I was raised in New Delhi. Currently I am in 2nd year of b.com at Delhi University and now I am very keen to pursue 3rd in the same stream. Apart from this I am also doing my steno course.
I like to wonder and explore many things from where’s could get some information. I have a nuclear family with whom I live jointly.
Goals and Ambitions:
My future long term goal is to be a stenographer.
My main motive to join Emerge is to become independent so that I could learn to manage my own expenses. Secondly I wanted to decrease the hesitation about interaction with people.
What I learnt from Emerge:
I learnt from Emerge skills and knowledge that you have taken an initiative to share that to those who want to learn the same.
I am more confident traveling around because of experience visiting destinations chosen by Emerge.
